Built in the 17th century, Villa al Boschiglia is set in beautiful northwest Tuscany, in the antique parish of Vorno near the magnificent medieval town of Lucca.
Protected by an enclosure wall of front viewing stones, the Villa is the true expression of Lucca’s sober architecture. Displaying the easy elegant lifestyle of the period, the noble floor is raised from the country floor, and entered through a portal atop the outside double flight stairway, with a symmetrical distribution of the other rooms around the central salon.
There is also interior access to the country floor where guests can enjoy delightful dinners in front of a large fireplace. The guest arriving from town is embraced by the gentle colors and the sharp fragrances of the surrounding countryside.
Upon the opening of the private gate, the guest’s first sight is a double row of cypresses. The wide park of the Villa with lime-trees, oaks, olives, magnolias, large bushes of aromatic plants and roses is the ideal background for the inviting swimming pool.
The pergola, entwined with Bougainvilleas, offers a pleasant area for outside dining and relaxation. In this atmosphere, culture and art are matched together in the sight and experience of living in this truly gorgeous Villa, where the lifestyle of the guests is quickly adapted to the surroundings.
Casale Sodini is a charming farmhouse and mill built in the 1800’s. It is constructed from materials of the time: stones, hand-made bricks timber beamed ceilings, and terracotta floors.
As was customary, the ground floor was used to house animals and the farm workers slept upstairs. Today the rooms of the old mill have become intimate comfortable living spaces.
Casale Sodini is located in the antique parish of Vorno near the magnificent medieval town of Lucca.
Though the mill wheel no longer turns, the timeless atmosphere and flavors remain today. Here in the warm golden Tuscan afternoons you can breathe in the simple values of the past.
The beautiful garden is filled with potted lemons, olive trees, pines, camellias, wisteria, roses, lavender, rosemary and fruit trees, all forming a splendid backdrop to the swimming pool. Enjoy conversations under the gazebo, relaxation by the pool or under the natural pergola of the wisteria, or dining al fresco in the place of your choice.
